New article: Reassembling Surveillance Creep
Ask Risom Bøge and Peter Lauritsen have just published a new paper on surveillance creep. In this paper the authors strive to understand what surveillance creep is from a position in actor-network theory and based on a study of the Danish DNA database. The authors argue 1) that surveillance creep involves reassembling the relations in surveillance networks between the watchers, the watched, laws and technologies, 2) that surveillance creep is only possible when actors are adequately aligned and 3) that aligning these actors may be difficult.
